Professional Summary

Pete Hummert is the co-owner and grow facility design and sales manager at Hummert International. Started in 1932 by his grandfather, Hummert International is now a fourth-generation, family owned, wholesale horticulture supply and equipment distributor in Earth City, Missouri. With over 26,000 professional growing products and equipment, Hummert serves customers in all 50 states and over 70 countries worldwide. Customers range from plant research institutions to colleges, universities, commercial growers, landscapers and in the last 5 years, growers in the legal cannabis space throughout the country.

Pete has been designing greenhouses and grow facilities for over 35 years with completed projects in nearly every sector of the horticulture industry. In the last few years, he has taken his experience in the traditional horticulture industry and applied it to the cannabis space in states throughout the country. From indoor retrofits to complete greenhouse design/build, Pete and his team work will a wide range of cannabis clients depending on their unique growing needs. Pete is born and raised in St. Louis, where he resides with his wife and three children. He has a B.S. in Horticulture from the University of Missouri – Columbia.

Your crop is extremely valuable and designing the optimal growing is no small feat, especially when taking into account all the external factors including budget and timeline, outdoor climate and facility location, growing preference, and workflow. In this presentation, Pete Hummert will share his experience designing greenhouses throughout the country and provide helpful tips and extra considerations to ensure you’re maximizing your grow facility efficiency. He’ll provide information and tips regarding grow facility structure types, ventilation and heating, lighting, environment controls, benching, irrigation and other pertinent equipment used to make your facility efficient, scalable, and in line with your budget.
